How long can I Dry Camp in an RV?
Dry camping means you are camping without an electricity, water, or sewer hookups. The length of time an RV can go before it needs to be recharged, (water, sewer, & battery) will vary depending on the unit. The smaller the unit, the shorter the time. Batteries can go dead as quick as 24 hours depending on the use. On board water will vary depending on consumption. Showers take the most water. Holding tanks also vary based on use. On average, motorhomes may go 2-4 days. Trailers about the same if you have an alternative power source to charge the batteries.
What AMPs do I need for electric hookups?
Many campgrounds will have various options for electric hookups. Most of our motorhomes and trailers need a 30 AMP hookup. A few of the larger motorhomes and trailers require a 50 AMP hookup. If the campground only offers a 110v/15AMP (regular household outlet) then you can still use that to power everything except the overhead air conditioner with the adapter provided in every rental. Please ask the campground what electrical source they have available BEFORE you arrive to pick up your rental so we are aware of what to help you with.
